As part of our topic 'Ancient Maya,' Year 3/4 have enjoyed designing, making and painting their own Ancient Maya death masks. 

We had lots of fun today experiencing Victorian toys.

We asked ourselves these questions:

What is it made of?

What does it look like?

Do I like playing with it?

How do we play with it?

We then chose our favourite! Great work Year 1!

Our first topic of the year is a history topic all about toys! 
We have started the topic by bringing in our favourite toys from home.
We had so much fun sharing them with our friends and thinking about what they are made from.

As part of our topic on Olympics, we have created pictogram tiles, in the style of those used at the Athens games in 2004, using clay.  The children also used ancient Greek pottery as inspiration.  

As part of our Ancient Egypt topic, we were set with the task to design and make our own Egyptian death mask.

We used a range of techniques and tools to create our masks and then, when they were dry, we painted them!
 

Well done Year 3, they are fantastic!

Well done to all the children who performed in our Variety Show to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.  All the staff and children thoroughly enjoyed watching the auditions and the show. 
 

In Year 3/4 we have been learning about Tudor explorers. The children used what they had learnt in class as well as their own research to create fact files about different Tudor explorers.

As part of our unit on Romans, Year 3/4 have been trying to make a Roman catapult. It was tricky but we persevered and were able to successfully make different designs.
