In reception, we have talked lots about the people in our community who can help us. We have had visits from April, who works for the police and Mark and crew from the fire service. They all told us about their jobs and how they help people. They showed us their special uniforms, their equipment…
Y5/6 Tealby Visit
As part of our geography topic, we visited Tealby to compare it with our local area. In the run up to our visit, we have been learning to use Ordnance Survey maps and we put this use around Tealby in our pairs. Take a look at the photos from our visit.
Y5/6 Clay Pictograms
As part of our topic on Olympics, we have created pictogram tiles, in the style of those used at the Athens games in 2004, using clay. The children also used ancient Greek pottery as inspiration.
Springfield Royal Variety Performance
Well done to all the children who performed in our Variety Show to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. All the staff and children thoroughly enjoyed watching the auditions and the show.
Year 5 Castleton
What a fantastic three days! We have had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the year 5 children. They embraced every challenge and were excellent ambassadors for our school.
What can we do to help the rainforests?
As a class we have spoken about what deforestation means and why it is happening. In groups we sorted positive and negative effects of deforestation and then all made a promise of what we can do to help protect the rainforests. Well done Year 3!

Using Maps and Atlases
In Y5/6 we have been learning about climate zones and biomes. We have become very skilled in using a range of maps and atlases. Working together we had to cross-reference information from different maps to identify the biomes in different continents and climate zones.
