Y4 Mathematicians
In maths, we have started our unit on area. Today, we were learning what area is and using sticky notes to make different shapes that had the same area.

In maths, we have been learning how to use written methods for subtraction. This has been a little tricky. However, we have persevered and found that using the place value counters has helped a lot.

Y4 Sports Day
What a fantastic morning we had! The weather was beautiful and we had lots of fun showing of our sporting skills.

Invertebrate Hunt
In science this week, we have been using classification keys to answer questions and identify invertebrate. We had a fantastic time going on an invertebrate hunt, and used our magnifying glasses to study the invertebrate we found including: ants, beetles, spiders, earwigs, ladybirds, slugs, snails…
The Water Cycle
In science, this week, we have been learning about the water cycle. We learnt about the different stages and had lots of fun acting out the journey of a water droplet within the water cycle. We couldn’t believe that the water we drink, could have been drunk by a dinosaur!
Science investigators
In science, we planned and set up an investigation to find out if temperature affects how fast towels dry. We talked about how we would ensure it was a fair test and which variables we would change and which we keep the same.
Art
This term, we will creating our own water colour paintings of river landscapes. Today, we practised mixing colours.
Computing challenges
Our brains were put to the test this afternoon when we had to draw shapes on the computers using loops. It was a tricky challenge, but we persevered and succeeded with lots of teamwork.
Red Nose Day
Year 3/4 have had lots of fun today raising money for Red Nose Day. They especially enjoyed sharing their best jokes with each other.
Maths
Today’s maths was a practical session getting to grips with tenths and hundredths. The children worked together to create patterns for their partners to find the fractions.
