This term we are learning about the properties of materials. So far we have been investigating and testing absorbency, electrical conductivity and thermal insulation.
To test absorbency, we dipped different materials in water and measured how high the water went. To investigate electrical conductivity, we made a simple circuit and tested to see if the bulb would still light, if we made the material part of the circuit. To investigate thermal insulation, we dipped our indexfingers in icy water but one of them was covered in fat.
We worked very closely in our groups and had to make sure our test were fair.
