As usual the children have designed and created their own Christmas cards. This year the children have used watercolours to create some stunning cards.
The children have also been exploring pattern and colour to inspire some impressive art and poetry work. First they took their pencils ‘for a walk’ and combined different lines to create patterns. Next they created a tile pattern and considered what feeling or mood the pattern evoked. They then thought about colours and shades which would best suit the mood of the design and we painted our patterns.
Finally the children used their own artwork as a stimulus for poetry writing considering thoughts, feelings and imagery and used figurative language to portray this.
