We have loved listening to and retelling the stories of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Gingerbread Man. We have written character descriptions of Goldilocks and have remembered to use capital letters and full stops. We have also been having fun playing in the porridge. We have compared the capacities of different containers and talked about how full they are.
We also tasted some porridge and described its taste, smell and texture. After reading The Gingerbread Man, we worked together to draw a story map. We wondered why The Gingerbread Man couldn’t go in the river so we decided to find out! We discovered that Gingerbread Men and water really aren’t a good mix! The poor Gingerbread Man went all soggy and disintegrated. We decided to try and help him by building him a boat. We tried a paper boat, a felt boat and a plastic boat. The plastic boat was the only one that saved him and kept him dry. We found out that this is because plastic is waterproof. We are looking forward to making our own Gingerbread People next week.
