Last Thursday, Emma – from the British Red Cross- came to speak to our class about first aid.

She began by asking people if they could think of a kind act.  Kaydon said that he’d cooked dinner for his family.   She then asked if anyone had done first aid and Kaydon also said that he’d helped his dad when he was ill.  Well done Kaydon!

Emma asked he children what they’d do if they saw a stranger that needed first aid.  She also explained that while we might want to help someone, we need to be very careful around strangers and always think about stranger danger.

Next the children discussed how we could help a stranger.  We decided we could ring 999, ring the Red Cross or ask out parents to help.  Emma talked for a while with the children about when it was OK to call 999.  It needs to be an emergency!
