This week we have been reading Room on the Broom by a Julia Donaldson. Lots of the children were familiar with the story already and enjoyed joining in with the parts they knew. We also spotted lots of rhyming words and had fun acting out the story using story spoons. We have shared our Halloween experiences and the children spoke enthusiastically about their costumes. We have been carving pumpkins and exploring their smells and textures. We have also enjoyed cutting up the wiggly worms to different lengths and writing words in the magic dust. We also have some excellent potion makers! In maths we have been counting spiders by lining them up, touching and moving them.
