Y5CS have made a fantastic start to our summer term and our new topic Stargazers. So far, we have learnt about how it was first discovered that the Earth is a sphere. We have used scales to draw models of the Earth, Sun and moon to compare their sizes, and a scale to help us understand where the Earth and the other planets are in relation to the sun. This week, we have been finding out how day and night occur, to help us understand this we have done drama activities and created our own stop-frame animations. We are using all this information in our literacy sessions to write a letter to Zorb, an alien who doesn’t understand what the fiery ball in the sky is and where it goes every night.
