Yesterday, Year 3 visited Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre . This was an excellent visit for our current topic “Strike it Rich With Fish!” We had a fantastic day learning about Grimsby’s  fishing industry, including first hand accounts from Bob who worked on the Ross Tiger for many years. The children were captivated by his stories of life on board the boat and a great day was had by all.

We split up into 3 groups and did 3 activities throughout the day. Here are a few photos from each activity…

1. Tour of the museum learning about life in Grimsby during the boom of the fishing industry.

2. Tour of the centres new exhibition on people from other nationalities and cultures who now live in Grimsby.

3. Learning about life working on The Ross Tiger and tying knots with rope.
