On Monday, we went to the Wilderspin National School museum in Barton.  We went to learn about what school was like  in Victorian times.

We found it really interesting.  Mrs Hewson was our teacher, we had to pay a penny or give a wooden token to go to school.   Our classroom is very different.  In Mr Wilderspin’s classroom  everyone had to wear an apron, some of us thought that we looked silly.   Mrs Hewson was very strict and when we answered a question we had to say “Yes ma’am”

We found out a lot about Victorian schools and we even got to experience ‘Victorian playtime’, they had a swing and we could have a go.  Most of us did and had a wonderful time flying in the air.

After lunch, we became treasure hunters, we had to read clues and find the objects, we dug in the soil to reveal artefacts and looked at slates, ridge tiles and bricks that had come from the building during renovation.

On the way back  to school, we were all tired but agreed that we preferred to be at school in 2019.
