What a fantastic day we have had at the Wilderspin School in Barton. We were all so excited and couldn’t wait to get there!

We started our day by getting into the roles of Victorian children and experiencing a Victorian classroom. We all put on on our white aprons and had to pay a penny to enter the classroom. We were greeted by the school Ma’am and knew it was a good idea to follow her every instruction! We practiced reading, writing, arithmetic and even marching!

Can you tell your parents how the Victorian school was different to our school today?

In the afternoon we became archaeologists and hunted for artefacts that had been found at Wilderspin. We all found it very interesting looking closely at all of the artefacts.

Can you remember an artefact that you found?

Here are some photos from our day for you to enjoy!
