Last week we had our first session with Emma from the British Red  Cross.  She talked to us about what we should do if we saw a stranger needing first aid.

She reminded us that we need to be careful around strangers and aware of ‘Stranger Danger’ but we can still get help.

We agreed the best thing to do would be to call 999 but of course it must be for real emergencies only.

This week we had our second First Aid session. Emma showed us a video clip about ‘Unresponsive and Breathing’. Emma explained to us that in this case we should put the person in the recovery position, which we practised with each other.

Next we were put into groups and each group was given a different scenario to role-play. These were: heavy bleeding, seizure, broken bones, swallowing a poisonous substance and burns. We worked really well in our groups.
