For the start of our new topic ‘How cool are castles?’, we all came to school dressed as a prince, princess or a knight. We had a fantastic day doing lots of castle themed activities.
We loved seeing eachother’s costumes!
We drew what we think a castle looks like – we all had very different ideas and Miss James liked that our castles were unique. We then labelled some of the parts of our castle.
After that, we all made a collage of a knight using shiny foil and watched Barnaby Bear show us around Edinburgh Castle – (Last week, Oliver had shared with us some information and photos of his visit to Edinburgh Castle!).
After lunch, we worked in pairs to make a castle out of lego. We explained to Miss James what each part of our model was and we enjoyed collaborating with our friends. Some of us even went to show Year 3 our models and they were very impressed!
No day would be complete without making a crown to take home!
We ended the day with a castle fight!
